Familiar names are Ernie Hesten, (top left) who lived on the Ryelaw Estate in Church Crookham (only
100 yards from our house in
Johnson Way) who always seemed to have large amounts of cash in
his pocket. This he said was acquired from trading stocks and shares and he introduced Dad (Leslie
Knight) to the subject with, as far as one could tell, not the same degree of success.
Immediately below Ernie is Friese Green, father of a school friend and son of
Claude Friese Green and grandson of the cinema inventor,
William Friese Green.
Below that on the diagram (but not in rank) is Sidney Pratt, father of my school friend
Lindsey.
