Twelve Acre Crescent

Coronation Day Party, 1953

Coronation group
The procession to the green. Recognised (left to right) are Rosemary Knight, Christopher Marchant, Anne Pickering, Mary Mullins with brother Dennis, Tina Mann, Marion Mack, Johnnie Aldrich and Sheila Stacey.
The bald patch in the grass (to the left of the lady in black) is a hole which was used for the regular marbles matches, the object of which was to bounce your opponent’s marble into the hole with as big an ‘alley’ as you could buy and claim the opponent’s marble as your own.
